“I was singing in church, when I was really little, and someone offered operatic vocal training to me when I was very young, and my dad told them no because he was afraid I would lose my soul. He was afraid that if I lost, you know, these unique characteristics that I was showing, you know, vocally…he was afraid that I would lose them and I couldn’t agree with him more, at 26. In terms of formal voice lessons, my dad never let me do, he didn’t want me to take away the blues. I just, I would love to sing as long as people wanna listen”

“I want to announce to everybody right now that Southern Gothic is taking Bibis under their wing. We’re putting her in the studio, and we are gonna record her stuff and put it out there for you guys [...] We’ve got some really great sound facilities here in Wilmington. We are going to get some professional recordings of these amazing original songs. You’re also doing the music for Pedestrian, a cover song that will remain nameless… So, you’re doing music for the film, you’re going to be recording some of your own stuff, and then we’re going to put it out there for you guys! And I promise you, you’re gonna love it. Look at the girl. She’s perfect!”

Heard about Bibis then found this site. lovley lovely music. is the states full of this kind of talent or is she an exeption?

i'm heading over from scotland to hopefully start my gig round the world (TAGLE) tour of an EP i'm producing at the moment.

the states are an unknown venture, whats the scene like for original stuff were you are?

Love Bibis Ellison, she is soo real, and soooo talented, and not to mention very nice, and just awesome, so yes, Hilarie you were right, perfect.

one of my new favorite bands... HE IS LEGEND! LOOOOOOVE THEM! i have all of their songs on my iPod now, and i love schulyar's stage presence, only seen it on youtube, but im hoping to chage that.

Thank you SoGoPro, you deff help up and comming musicians, and are bringing up the underground, keep it up :)

Foxes has to be one of the best songs that I've heard this year! I mean...Ihave become speechless beautiful, love it. Will definitley be on the soundtrack for my life :D

Bibis Ellison performs very well, I like her singing and went to her concerts with my friends several times. Her voice sounds strong, though her music is not for everyone, it's not commercial pop music. But if you are interested in true art as I seem to be download Ellison's mp3 and an interview to Wilmington Star-News. The girl deserves to be heard for sure!

Hey Sam,

Just wondering, did you mean the last.fm discussion? I only ask in case it was- my last post plugged the last.fm conversations etc...

If so,this is because the forums/shout box options are restricted to last.fm members that aren't members of the "group". I may be wrong, but do double check that you've added the Street Team's Last.fm as a group :)

Hey guys, Check out the bands Pine&Battery and Jealousy Curve. They both have myspace and P&B has a facebook. They're also BOTH on lastfm. I have them on my playlists (Samjt19) is my username. P&B's lead singer and guitarist is my cousin. He played with Phil Lesh from Grateful Dead a few months ago. They are also, PLEASE check them out. Thanks!
