“I was singing in church, when I was really little, and someone offered operatic vocal training to me when I was very young, and my dad told them no because he was afraid I would lose my soul. He was afraid that if I lost, you know, these unique characteristics that I was showing, you know, vocally…he was afraid that I would lose them and I couldn’t agree with him more, at 26. In terms of formal voice lessons, my dad never let me do, he didn’t want me to take away the blues. I just, I would love to sing as long as people wanna listen”

Does it help that she and I are already good friends....of course! But I've watched Bibis maneuver crowds, and interact with strangers as if they were old friends. She is the real deal, folks.

Heard about Bibis then found this site. lovley lovely music. is the states full of this kind of talent or is she an exeption?
i'm heading over from scotland to hopefully start my gig round the world (TAGLE) tour of an EP i'm producing at the moment.

Love Bibis Ellison, she is soo real, and soooo talented, and not to mention very nice, and just awesome, so yes, Hilarie you were right, perfect.
one of my new favorite bands... HE IS LEGEND! LOOOOOOVE THEM! i have all of their songs on my iPod now, and i love schulyar's stage presence, only seen it on youtube, but im hoping to chage that.

Bibis Ellison performs very well, I like her singing and went to her concerts with my friends several times. Her voice sounds strong, though her music is not for everyone, it's not commercial pop music. But if you are interested in true art as I seem to be download Ellison's mp3 and an interview to Wilmington Star-News. The girl deserves to be heard for sure!

Just wondering, did you mean the last.fm discussion? I only ask in case it was- my last post plugged the last.fm conversations etc...
If so,this is because the forums/shout box options are restricted to last.fm members that aren't members of the "group". I may be wrong, but do double check that you've added the Street Team's Last.fm as a group :)
