At last, our dear teammate Austin is back!!!
I haven't been able to post in a while because I've been in a tornado of travel and work lately. Last weekend I had to trek out to LA for meetings, and I was there all the way through Wednesday. Worked all day Thursday back here in Wilmington, and slept till 4pm on Friday. It's been a helluva week, folks.
I flew out to LA and stayed with my gorgeous and generous friend, Elisabeth Harnois. She has always been so supportive of the SoGo movement, so it was fun catching up about all the progress we've been making on Pedestrian.
Hilarie - "We cast Austin Nichols."
Elisabeth - "I don't think I've met him."
Hilarie - "Oh, you'll love him. Really humble, talented man."
Elisabeth - "Yeah, he was great in 'John From Cincinnati'."
Hilarie - "Lets see what he's doing tomorrow."
Austin rode 45 minutes on a scooter, all the way across the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles to eat eggs and split a crazy big 47 grain (exaggeration) pancake with Lis and me. He knew more than a couple people in the restaurant. He's been taking meetings out west with agents and managers, doing really solid work to get this project rolling. He's going to make this movie great.
But he's not a slick LA man. This is a southern creature we are talking about. He belongs in our sleepy little town, rocking on front porches and sipping on sweet tea.
So after all the mayhem of freeways and too many coffee meetings in one day and drinks that are too expensive, it was so good to return to Wilmington and have our leading man back out here.
He raced right up to the ocean's edge, to get as far East as possible.
We spent some time shooting fun stuff this weekend. Here's just a taste of what is to come.
Help me in saying, "Welcome Home Cowboy."

I wanted to start by saying that I think you're super down, and although I've seen mostly your "Peyton" character what I've seen of Hilarie looks to be really cool. As a huge fan I wanted to let you know that I am VERY disappointed that you will not be there for more seasons, I really hope that can change b/c as a die hard OTH fan and and even more Peyton fan, it really sucks that you will not stay on. Although, I know its just a "show", but for that hour it allows us to get out of reality and go into the OTH world, atleast I do. You guys make it so easy to get in there, and you being my fav, I love when all good things happen to you! So truly hearing that you won't be there, kills me. But as a true Hilarie fan, not just Peyton, I wish you the BEST in ALL you do and where ever that may be I'll follow you there too, but I can't lie, I REALLY hope you stay!! Much Love to you!!!

It is always such a pleasure to read your post, Hilarie! Thank you for taking the time to do it,to share what is going on so generously,really... This video made me laugh so much, and it made me smile to see you two having so much fun, you made me think of the funny stuff we get to do with our friends in high school time,just kidding around... your great energy and joy are so contagious!Change the colours for black/white and I'll label you Charlie Chaplin Girl, but the first thing that came to my mind is Southern Cowgirl Burton!

This is a great video! I have just recently been introduced to SGP and I want to say that im very excited about where this could go and im so glad your doing it in Wilmington. Wilmington is my home too and I love everything about this place. It has so much to offer yet so many people over look the great things here. Hilarie, I love your work in One Tree Hill. Im a huge fan of the show and you bring such a great talent to it along with so many of the other cast members. I cant imagine how great this company will do with you being a part of it! Good luck with everything and thanks for sharing your love of Wilmington with the world!!

I love this video! :) Wilmington is gorgeous! The closest I’ve been to Wilmington is Hilton Head, SC and it actually looks very similar, but I can’t wait to visit someday (or live there.. who knows). And I LOVE sweet tea… probably more than is healthy.
And I say Hilarie as... the “Welcome Wagon”. From what I've seen and heard, you are super friendly, welcoming, and can make any one feel comfortable in a new place. I think that’s a great thing. <3
I think “Mad Hatter” sounds cool, but I found out in school that the phrase originated from the mercury poisoning caused by how the hats were made. It caused neurological damage (distorted vision and speech) and made a person seem “mad”. And you, Hilarie, are not “mad”… just awesome! :)

Hil, thanks for update us on what's going on with your life. I'm glad that you had such a great time in LA. It must feel good to be back in back East away from all the "crazy" stuff happening there.
