The album was originally released in Japan, and Porter talks about releasing the album in the United States with Engine Room Records and adding two new songs to the album. The song "A Beautiful Life" was in the Academy Award nominated "The Messenger."

Jaffe talks about how personal the songs on the album are, how writing a song is a visual process for her and what it has been like to tour with one of her musical idols Norah Jones.
